Well prepared is half painted
Cleaning the surface
Thoroughly remove dust, dirt, and grease. In many cases, a damp cloth is sufficient. For heavier soiling, you can additionally use an all-purpose cleaner or a grease-dissolving window cleaner.
Let it dry
The surface must be completely dry before you reach for the paint – then you can start right away with your favorite color!
For chalk paint (Satin Paint)
An additional step is necessary here: the surface should be lightly sanded before painting – a fine sandpaper is sufficient. Then wipe it off briefly again to remove the sanding dust.
Why all this?
A clean and well-prepared surface ensures that the paint adheres better, covers more evenly, and keeps your project looking beautiful for a long time.
