Stencil Mexican Birds

This "Mexican Birds" stencil design is inspired by Annie's love for traditional Otomi embroidery from Mexico and its patterns. Otomi folk art focuses on indigenous flora and fauna, which is reflected in the tropical flower and bird motifs used here. The Otomi traditionally use a multitude of bright, competing colours to bring joy and colour into their homes, for which this design is wonderfully suited. However, you can also use colour shading for a more subtle design.

Annie's stencils are made from a durable, washable, semi-transparent plastic (250 micron/10 mil Mylar), making them reusable for multiple projects. Apply your stencil pattern using either a foam roller or a stencilling brush. Secure the stencil with masking tape to make application easier.
