    Easily paint your radiator yourself

A radiator is functional, but it doesn't have to be boring! With the right coat of paint, it can blend harmoniously into your room design or even become a stylish eye-catcher. With Annie Sloan Satin Paint, you can give your radiator a modern, satin finish that is extremely heat-resistant and durable. In this guide, we will show you how to achieve a professional result step by step.

    How to achieve the look

    Preparation & Cleaning

The radiator must be completely cooled down before painting. Clean the surface thoroughly to remove dust and grease. Dirt often accumulates behind the radiator, which can impair adhesion.

    Sanding

Lightly sand the old paint with fine-grit sandpaper. This ensures that the colored lacquer adheres optimally to the metal. Remove the sanding dust afterwards with a damp cloth.

Pro tip:Do you see any small rust spots? Sand them down thoroughly to the bare metal and treat them with an anti-rust primer before you start with the colored lacquer. This will ensure your result remains beautiful for a long time.

    Masking

Carefully mask off the thermostat and valves with painter's tape. Protect the floor and the wall behind the radiator with protective fleece or cardboard.

    The first coat

    Second coat & drying

Allow the first coat to dry well. A second coat is usually sufficient for a perfectly opaque result.

Important:Do not turn the heating back on slowly until it has dried completely (at least 24 hours).
